After the suppression of the uprising on Senate Square, 121 Decembrists were sent to Siberia, into exile and to hard labor. The place of departure of hard labor was Chita, Nerchinsk and Petrovsky plant. As the Decembrists ran out of hard labor, they went to the settlement and were distributed to the cities of Western and Eastern Siberia. In the Tobolsk province, there were 37 Decembrists in the settlement. The largest colonies existed in Tobolsk and Yalutorovsk.
