Propaganda theater as a social phenomenon emerged after the October Revolution. Its main goal was to propagate communist ideas among the illiterate segment of the population. The propaganda theater was widespread, and theatrical circles, studios appeared throughout the country, "mass celebrations" were organized, in which the main revolutionary events were vividly displayed. There have been many movements of such a theater with their own ideas for creating a fundamentally new culture. The troupes that existed under the name of Proletkult willingly staged classical plays. In the pre-war period, the propaganda theater gained great fame in our country.
The propaganda brigades showed themselves very vividly and interestingly during the Great Patriotic War. At that time, the actors of the Tyumen Drama Theater performed in hospitals in front of wounded soldiers. They also came to the collective farmers in rural clubs.
In the Tyumen region, propaganda brigades proved themselves well during the development of virgin lands, the construction of new cities, the development of oil and gas resources of the region.
