Rock as a direction originated from rock and roll in the late 1950s. Before the USSR, this alien phenomenon made its way very hard and slowly. The pioneer in the field of rock culture was the Baltic States, which was closer to the West.
If in the 1960s in the West, the Beatles gathered concert halls, our rock-style evenings were done underground, one might even say secretly. But this did not prevent the emergence and development of rock groups in the Union. Many of them delight us with their creativity to this day. What is made under the brand "Made in the USSR" has been working for many years.

The name of the group comes from the chemical dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, which is used in insect control. The entire creative path of the group is divided into two stages. In 1980-1997, the band worked in such genre directions as hard rock, Russian rock and folk rock.
In 1981, under the leadership of Viktor Tsoi, Oleg Valinsky and Alexey Rybin, the rock band "Kino" was created. After the sudden death of Viktor Tsoi in a car accident, the last album "Black Album" was released, after that the group ended its existence.
