A lot has already been written and said about the famous scales "Tyumen". But not many people know that the history of scales "Tyumen" originated at the beginning of the last century. They were developed in Germany, and production was planned to begin in Kiev at the Gall Chain plant. During the war, part of the plant's equipment and some specialists were evacuated from Kiev to Tyumen. At that time, everyone was working for victory and instead of scales, they began to produce shells, grenades, combine chains and insignia for the command staff.
The production of scales "Tyumen" began only in 1959 at the Tyumen Instrument-making Plant. During the first year, 2,160 pieces were produced. In 1978, the plant produced the first million scales, and in 1994 – the second million. At the moment, there are more than 2.2 million copies throughout Russia.
The design bureau and the technological department of the enterprise were engaged in the development of the design. From the first days the scales began to enjoy great popularity – they were practical, stable construction, withstood heat and frost (worked at temperatures from -20 ° C to +50 ° C). Legends can be made about the quality of the scales: some copies released in the middle of the last century are still working. Scales "Tyumen" were sold not only in the Soviet Union, but also abroad. They got to Africa, Indonesia and about 80 other countries of the world.
In 2012, the production was suspended due to low demand. The era of the legendary scales is over. But, despite the widespread use of electronic devices, scales "Tyumen" can still be seen in markets and in stores.
For reliability and ease of operation, our scales became the first type of product marked with the Tyumen Brand quality mark.
