The Yarsalinsky Animal and reindeer herding State Farm was established on October 16, 1961 on the basis of the resolution of the Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR No. 877 of July 08, 1961, “On the transformation of fishing collective farms and agricultural artels of the Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets National districts into state farms and other state and cooperative farms.” The implementation of the government decree made it possible to create a large state-owned enterprise with year-round stable earnings of workers. This contributed to the improvement of the living conditions of the local population, their transfer to sedentariness.
The Yarsalinsky State Farm was created on the basis of the liquidated agricultural cartel named after Lenin. The economy of the state farm is complex, it has the following separate branches: reindeer husbandry, animal husbandry, fishing, fur and handicrafts. The economic center of the state farm is the village of Yar-Sale.
